These pupils were voted in by the their year group through a democratic process and meet on a monthly basis.

Voting is held in the Assembly Hall before school, during break time, during lunchtime and after school on the first Thursday in September.

Pupils are given voting cards, which were used to check that they are able to vote, then they then filled in their ballot papers in real voting booths and posted their votes in real ballot boxes.   The voting booths and ballot boxes are the same ones used in the General and Scottish Parliament elections.

Each year group has 4 representatives: 2 boys and 2 girls on the Pupil Council and it is their responsibility to gather the views of their year group and bring these and any issues to the Pupil Council.

Issues discussed at the Pupil Council include:

  • Homework
  • Staff / Pupil Relationships
  • Queues in the School Lunch Line.
