  • Responsible for managing support for pupils with specific learning difficulties;
  • overseeing systems and procedures for the Support Rooms;
  • ensuring that Additional Support Needs (ASN) legislation is adhered to and understood by all staff;
  • overseeing the work of 2 ASN teachers and 16 PSWs; managing alternative assessment arrangements for SQA and delivering training to teachers and Pupil Support Workers.

  • Responsible for identifying learning difficulties,
  • undertaking screening and assessments as appropriate,
  • contributing to the assessment and review of pupils' needs;
  • developing, monitoring and reviewing support plans and IEPs;
  • delivering appropriate forms of support;
  • monitoring the learning of pupils with specific learning difficulties;
  • liaising with primaries to enable early intervention;
  • maintaining effective communication with other staff and the wider support team.
