YPI Finals 2024

Having investigated the work their chosen charities carry out, visited their charities to see the work that they do and presented to their English class, a winning group from each S3 English classes was chosen to represent their charity in the YPI final.

On to the finals and each group had the chance to win £3000 for the charity that they were representing.   On the night, each of the 5 groups produced an excellent, well researched, well presented and thought-provoking presentation with many of them featuring audience participation or videos produced by the pupils themselves to highlight the work of their chosen charities.

Staff and volunteers from the charities chosen by the finalists attended to support the pupils and were blown away by the quality of the presentations created by the pupils.   The pupils who took part were a real credit to the school and it was wonderful to see how supportive each group was with their peers.

The judging panel had a very difficult decision to make, however after a long deliberation by the panel, Lynn Raynal, the Central Scotland Lead Facilitator for YPI presented the winning group with a cheque for £3000, for their chosen charity, 'West Lothian Foodbank'.

A special mention also goes to the group representing 'Neil's Hugs' who have also been invited to deliver their presentation at the YPI national event in Perth later in the year.

Well done to our winning group and to everyone who took part in the event.  Our photograph shows some representatives from the winning group with the cheque for the Foodbank.
