These courses are aimed at those who want to explore a potential career in the creative industries. They are ideally suited to a wide range of creative contexts allowing students to pick the potential industry that interests them most.

This skills for work course is designed as an introduction to the knowledge, skills and demands in early education and childcare.

This course gives you the opportunity to learn about yourself, develop skills and demonstrate your abilities. As well as giving you the opportunity to develop and demonstrate your skills it will complement your learning in other areas and will stand you in good stead for the future world of study or work. It should help you to build your confidence and your self-esteem.

Personal and Social Education (PSE) is an essential part of the curriculum for all age groups of Whitburn Academy.

S1 and S2 Pupils are timetabled for a double period of Masterclasses (S1) and Project Based Learning (S2). Classes rotate every term so that every pupil will experience a wide range of skills over the year.

Travel and Tourism paired with Retailing ensures that students are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to move directly into the workplace from school.
