Cyber Attack update

Investigation work has been ongoing into the impact of the council's education network as a result of the criminal attack.

P7 Transition Week

The P7 transition visit is scheduled to take place from Tuesday 10th - Friday 13th June.

Our P7 transition days are scheduled to take place over 4 days from Tuesday 10th June - Friday 13th June. 

General Information

  • All pupils should have been issued with their Tutor class details prior to coming for their transition days.
  • Pupils will be travelling to the school independently and should arrive at the school for 8.30am
  • On arrival each day, pupils should make their way to the Assembly Hall.
  • Pupils who are travelling by bus should have been informed of their bus details by their primary school.
  • If there are any transport issues, please ensure that the primary school contact the transport provider directly as a matter of urgency.
  • Any questions regarding transport arrangements can be answered by our primary school colleagues.
  • All Pupils should bring a snack on the visit days for break.
  • Pupils are recommended to bring a packed lunch each day.
  • Pupils with free meal entitlement will have their allocation available for the transition days.

Tuesday 10th - Thursday 12th June - S1 Timetable

  • The pupils will follow their S1 timetable on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
  • The school day begins at 8.30am and ends at 3.25pm
  • Pupils should wear their Primary School uniform

Friday 13th June -Transition Sports Day

  • On Friday, pupils will take part in a Sports Day
  • The school day begins at 8.30am and ends at 12.15pm
  • Pupils should make their way to the Assembly Hall on arrival 
  • Pupils should wear PE kit but dress appropriately for the weather as activities will be outside. 
  • Pupils should also bring water, a snack and suncream (if weather is sunny or waterproofs if it is raining )
  • Pupils will be divided in to groups and will take part in 4 activities. 
  • If the weather is to be wet or colder, please ensure pupils are wearing suitable clothing for outdoor sport as some activities will be outside
  • We will have an indoor contingency plan if the weather is to be bad so the event will go ahead regardless of weather.
  • Pupils should arrive ready to start activities e.g. only need to take off jackets- there are no changing facilities available at Whitburn Academy to change.
  • Toilets are located throughout the school near facilities

Sports Day Format

There will be 11 Groups based on the practical sets (pupils will know this prior to the festival) with 4 sessions from 8.45am-12.15pm. Times are as below:

  • Arrival - 8.30am
  • Session 1 - 8.45am-9.30am
  • Session 2 -9.30am -10.10am
  • BREAK - 10.10am-10.35am students meet in hall and are taken to activities
  • Session 3 - 10.35am - 11.25am
  • Session 4 - 11.25am - 12pm
  • Departure - 12.15pm
