The subject of food is a multi-million pound industry and constantly growing. It is part of our everyday lives through the media, new technology, countless TV programmes and culinary celebrities. The  Home Economics course is practical based and provides useful skills for pupils who are interested in the food industry, health, welfare and nutrition.

S1 - S2 Home Economics

In S1 and S2 Home Economics pupils will learn some basic food preparation and textile skills. Pupils undertake work covering the appropriate level 2, level 3 and level 4 experiences and outcomes. Skills development is essential and is regularly assessed.

S2 Home Economics course contains the following topics:

  • Technology in the Kitchen
  • All about Soup
  • Textiles in Focus
